You want to go to gym and build muscles, everyone says you need to take proteins for that. You are fat and want to lose some weight, people will tell you to workout and take proteins. Everyone from the big guy from your gym to the hot girl in your gym take proteins. But, do you really know that there are several different kind of proteins and not all of them will work for you for the purpose you have? In fact, depending on the protein, there are even different time of the day you have to take them to get the maximum benefits. Here find out what are some of the best options you have and what will work for you.
1. Whey concentrate protein
Whey concentrate protein is one of the popular and cheapest protein among people who go to gym. The best time to take this protein is in the morning, pre workout as well as post work out. It is recommended that you don't take it at night as it is hard to digest.
2. Whey isolates
Whey isolates are one of the fast absorbing proteins (not the fastest) out there. They are a bit more expensive compared to whey concentrates but they are one of the best one to feed your hungry muscles post workout because of the fast absorption. They are available usually with very low carbs and sugar which helps in losing weight.
3. Hydrolysate proteins
These are the most expensive and fastest absorbing proteins out there. These proteins are also considered to be one of the best in quality as well. Compared to whey concentrate, these proteins are quite easy on the digestive system and you can take them either pre or post workout.
4. Weight gainer proteins
Weight gainer proteins are nothing but mixed proteins with lots of carbs and calories. This is recommended if you are too slim & weak and looking to gain body mass with bulky muscles. The extra calories gives you pretty good energy during workout but if you take these kind of proteins regularly, you have to work hard in gym. The thing weight gainer proteins are not good for is your abs as you will not see your six packs because of all the mass you are gaining.
5. Egg Albumin
This is one of the best traditional style source of protein used from many years. This protein is mainly made of egg white and contains various amino acids.
6. Soy Protein
This is not the best source of protein for body builders but if you are a vegan then this is the one for you. It does support your healthy cholesterol levels and help speed up the recovery.
7. Casein protein
This is the slowest absorbing protein as it breaks down really slow compared to other proteins. This is the best protein to take at night time before bed as the complete break down of the protein will take several hours and your body will get slow protein all night long. You can also take it during the day in between meals to make sure your body get constant source of protein.
Depending on your needs, you can choose the protein which works out best for you and gain some results. Always keep in mind that proteins are hard to process by our kidney so it is recommended to drink a lot of water (and sometimes beer ;) through out the day to help process them.
